Context
As a project developer, BSTOR plans to develop several battery storage systems in Belgium in the coming years. In April 2022, the 20MWh installation was commissioned in Bastogne. Several other projects are in the pipeline. BSTOR's installations will be connected to the Elia grid and provide grid services, among other things.
The role of hop
In the conceptual phase of the project, hops provided input to evaluate the feasibility of different battery sites. To develop a battery storage system, several preconditions must be met: available space, connection capacity, spatial zoning, etc.
We also launched and supervised the necessary studies at Elia for these sites.
