Battery projects
Projectdetails
Dates: 2021
Project scale: > € 10 million
Characteristics: study, feasiblity
Context
Due to the planned closure of nuclear power plants in Belgium by 2025, other technologies are being looked at that could be part of the solution. The federal government will soon organize the so-called "CRM" to subsidize these technologies. One of the solutions that hops is also betting on are large-scale battery farms.
Challenges
The deployment of battery systems on a large scale for our energy supply is relatively new. The challenges are not only technical, but also regulatory. Moreover, legislation plays a role at various levels. It is therefore a complex whole in which hops analyzes and assists clients with applications and implementation.
The role of hop
There are many players required in the entire value chain of a battery farm. There is the supplier of the hardware, the engineering firm, the operator, the contractors, the managers of the power grid (distribution and transmission), maintenance companies and so on. Hop has experience in these different areas and assists the operator in the prospectus, feasibility studies, application for necessary permits and final construction.
